Are you looking for information on Ottawa, Gatineau and Canada’s Capital Region? The NCC’s library collection is rich in books, magazines, newspapers, photographs, audio and video files, microfiche, maps and atlases.
Subject Areas
The NCC library collection is focussed on:
- Canadian history
- the history of Ottawa, Gatineau and other towns in Canada’s Canada Region
- heritage buildings and historic sites in Canada’s Capital Region
- city planning and design
- conservation and the environment
- the geography of Canada’s Capital Region.
The library also has a full collection of the NCC’s annual reports, corporate plan summaries, planning documents and research reports. The most recent of these are also available in PDF format via the Reports and Publications section.
Visiting the NCC Library
The NCC Library is open to the public. You can consult library material on site or you can arrange an interlibrary loan through your local library. If you wish to visit the NCC library, it is best to book an appointment in advance.
The library catalogue is not available online. You can, however, access it through the public terminals in the NCC library. A photocopier and a microfiche reader/printer are available for your use.

8:30 am to 12 pm, 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm
