Don’t miss the display of a Mercedes G-Wagon and navy equipment, including a rigid hull inflatable boat and Navy diver support truck. Plus, Army mascot Juno the bear will delight children of all ages.

 

In addition, you can see on display a Griffon helicopter from 403 Squadron, Canadian Forces Base Gagetown on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8, as well as a BV 206 tracked vehicle, which is used in heavy snow conditions and Arctic operations, during the second weekend (February 13 to 15) and the third weekend (February 20 to 22).

 

Finally, look up and see a flypast by a Challenger aircraft to celebrate the centennial of powered flight on Saturday, February 21, at 1 pm.

Centennial of Flight in Canada at the Museum!

Canadian Aviation Museum
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (open on Family Day, February 16).

One of the finest aviation museums in the world, the Canada Aviation Museum is a must-see attraction located only ten minutes from Parliament Hill. Over 130 aircraft chronicle the ancient dream of flight and the significant part played by Canadians in the development of aviation.

 

On Sunday February 22, the Museum kicks off a full year of Centennial of flight celebrations with the Silver Dart Day. The day’s program will feature a variety of workshop activities, including make-and-take crafts for different ages, demonstrations and guided tours.

 

On Wednesday February 25, the Museum opens its impressive new exhibition Canadian Wings: A Remarkable Century of Flight to the public, in commemoration of the centennial of powered flight in Canada. This exhibition will have visitors discover even more of the story of Canada’s rich aeronautical heritage since the first historical flight.
