National Snow Sculpture Competition 2009

Ten teams of carvers, representing Canadian provinces and territories, took part in the 2009 edition of the National Snow Sculpture Competition. Inspired by the theme “Portrait of Canada”, carvers created sculptures of epic proportions out of gigantic blocks of snow. Here are the winning sculptures from last year’s competition.

First Prize: David Thompson and a Voyageur on a Rocky Portage
