The NCC is encouraging the public and other levels of government to participate in planning the future of the Greenbelt. Several public consultations are therefore planned during the Greenbelt Master Plan review period (see “The Update”). Those consultations will be advertized and posted well in advance on this website.
Public Consultation for Step 2 (Vision)
The next round of public consultations will take place in November 2009 and late January 2010. The NCC will first host a National Public Forum during the evening of November 25th as part of its National Vision Workshop that will take place on November 25th and 26th with national and international experts. Following this National Public Forum, the NCC will organize three public consultation sessions in late January 2010 to obtain public input on the future vision for the Greenbelt.

Public Consultation for Step 1 (Existing Conditions)
As a very first consultation, the NCC invited the public to meet NCC staff to discuss their views about the existing conditions of the Greenbelt. Several hundred people were consulted face to face and online in spring and early summer 2009. Partners, stakeholders, farmers and the Public Advisory Committee were also consulted during this period.
The Public Consultation Report for Step 1 will be available shortly on this page.
