The NCC is encouraging the public and other levels of government to participate in planning the future of the Greenbelt. Several public consultations are therefore planned during the Greenbelt Master Plan review period (see “The Update”). Those consultations will be advertized and posted well in advance on this website.
Next consultations
The next round of public consultations will take place in fall 2010 on the three concept plans. More information on these public consultations will be available on this website by the end of summer 2010.
Previous consultations
Public Consultation for Step 1 (Existing Conditions)
As a very first consultation, the NCC invited the public to meet NCC staff to discuss their views about the existing conditions of the Greenbelt. Several hundred people were consulted face to face and online in spring and early summer 2009. Partners, stakeholders, farmers and the Public Advisory Committee were also consulted during this period.
