Canada Day at Major’s Hill Park
On July 1, join the fun as we celebrate Canadian culture at Major's Hill Park in downtown Ottawa.
The Canada Day festivities at Major's Hill Park feature a variety of cultural performances and displays. You can be both spectator and participant — there are plenty of activities for one and all.
Share your pride with the Great Canadian Oath! (Reaffirmation Ceremony). And if you get hungry, you might want to check out the annual Chicken Barbecue, which also takes place in the park.
Major's Hill Park offers incredible views of Parliament Hill and the Ottawa River. It's also one of the best places to enjoy the Canada Day fireworks display.
Located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, Major's Hill Park is next to the ByWard Market and the National Gallery of Canada. The park is just a short walk from Parliament Hill and there is also a free Canada Day shuttle bus between Major’s Hill Park and Jacques-Cartier Park.
Dogs and pets are not permitted at Canada Day sites.
Exceptions are made for service dogs.
