Entire length of the Rideau Canal Skateway welcomes Winterlude this weekend

The National Capital Commission (NCC) is pleased to announce that the Rideau Canal Skateway opened in its entirety this morning at 6:30 am.

Managed by the NCC since the 1970-71 season, the 7.8-kilometre Rideau Canal Skateway receives, on average, one million visits each year. The world-famous ice surface is one of the official sites for Winterlude, the Capital’s winter celebration, which is held from February 3 to 20, 2012.
