Winterlude 2014 runs from Januray 31 to February 17, 2014, and is open on Family Day. The three Winterlude weekends are filled with activities and many venues are open daily.

Winterlude Hotline

Available at the Rideau Centre Customer Service Centre (3rd floor).

During Winterlude, the hotline is available during mall hours at the Rideau Centre.

Facilities and Services

Concession Stands Available at Confederation Park, Marion Dewar Plaza, Jacques-Cartier Park and on the Rideau Canal Skateway.
First Aid First aid is available at Jacques-Cartier Park, Marion Dewar Plaza, and on the Rideau Canal Skateway (Fifth Avenue first aid trailer and skate patrollers).
Lost and Found

Lost and found boxes are kept at Winterlude information booths in these locations:

  • Confederation Park
  • Jacques-Cartier Park
  • Rideau Canal Skateway (Fifth Avenue).

Valuable items are turned over to local police:

  • Ottawa Police: 613-236-1222
  • Gatineau Police: 819-246-0222.

Lost Children Services are available at:

  • Rideau Canal Skateway (NAC, Fifth Avenue and Dows Lake)
  • Jacques-Cartier Park
  • Marion Dewar Plaza
Skate Rentals You can rent skates and other equipment on the Rideau Canal Skateway.
Souvenirs

Official Winterlude souvenirs are available during Winterlude at these locations:

  • Confederation Park
  • Jacques-Cartier Park
  • Rideau Canal Skateway.

You can also buy Official Winterlude souvenirs online.

Washrooms Portable washrooms are available at each of the main Winterlude locations (Confederation Park, Jacques-Cartier Park and the Rideau Canal Skateway).

Some Winterlude activities are free and others have fees. See individual activity listings for details.

Universal Accessibility

Special Services on the Rideau Canal Skateway:

  • ramps to access the Skateway
  • heated change facilities (universally accessible)
  • portable washrooms (universally accessible).

Jacques-Cartier Park and Confederation Park:

Universally accessible portable toilets are available but may be difficult to access due to weather conditions.

Accessible Parking:

A limited number of parking spots ($) are available for people with disabilities at these parking lots:

  • National Arts Centre (NAC)
  • Dows Lake
  • Bronson Avenue.

Help us make Winterlude carbon neutral. While attending events at Jacques-Cartier Park, at Marion Dewar Plaza, at Confederation Park and on the Rideau Canal Skateway, please:

  • Recycle — put recyclables in the on-site recycling stations.
  • Compost — put food waste and other compost items in the on-site compost stations.
  • Use public transit:

No Dogs or Pets
Dogs and pets are not permitted at Winterlude sites.
 
Exceptions are made for service dogs.
