Join the team of Winterlude volunteers for a rewarding winter experience in the Capital. There are many ways that you can lend a hand while enjoying this celebration of winter. Volunteer Opportunities: Jacques-Cartier Park

| Bus Host |
- Greet students and teachers as they get off the bus
- Provide information about the site, services and programming
- Hand out activity schedules to people in charge of groups
Bus hosts also assist with other volunteer positions at Jacques-Cartier Park.
This position is available on weekdays only.

| Snow Slide Assistant |
- Supervise the bottom of the snow slides and help ensure the safety of sliders
- Help with line-ups
- Greet visitors in a pleasant and positive manner
- Work with the supervisors to help ensure a positive experience for all slide users
- Inform the supervisor if problems arise
Assistants work at the various slides in turn. Minimum age: 14 years old.

- Assist with crowd control

- Help people line-up for an activity
- Help set up and dismantle the activity and help out with other duties
Must be polite, courteous and friendly.

| Super Games Supervisor |
- Help participants take part in games (for example, rallies, treasure hunts or obstacle courses)

| Arts and Crafts Assistant |
- Help the craft coordinator with any preparations
- Welcome children and help them put their coats away
- Help children with crafts and help keep the area clean
This volunteer opportunity takes place indoors.

- Wear an Ice Hog costume (Papa or Mama or Nouma or Noumi)
- Interact with visitors

- Help the Ice Hogs walk in the Park

| Logistics Assistant |
- Install barricades, fences, signs and equipment
- Make repairs using hand and power tools
Must be physically fit.

- Collect and recycle empty boxes

- Welcome ice carvers during the construction phase of sculpting
- Offer refreshments
- Greet the catering company
- Keep the trailer tidy
Be prepared to assist carvers by attending to small errands.

- Help install and dismantle the artists' room
- Offer refreshments and keep the room in good order
- Ensure artists follow schedules

Generally, appearances take place in Ottawa–Gatineau.

- Help the coordinator and assist with duties
- Replace other volunteers during their lunch breaks
Must be flexible.

| Environmental Assistant |
- Educate the public about the National Capital Commission's (NCC) objectives to reduce waste
- Communicate information about the NCC’s waste diversion programs
- Assist the public with sorting of materials at waste diversion stations.(recycling and composting)
