Gatineau Park is an excellent spot for a hike through nature. There are 165 kilometres of hiking trails, with something for everyone whether you are a beginner or an avid hiker. Seven trails offer interpretation along the way. See the Gatineau Park Summer Trails Map for the complete trail system.

Part of the Gatineau Park trail system (90 kilometres) is shared between hikers and mountain bikers.

Des Fées Lake Trail — 1 km

This great birdwatching trail runs along Des Fées Lake. It is at the southern end of Gatineau Park, near downtown Gatineau (Hull sector).

Pioneer Trail — 1.3 km

Learn about settlers in the Outaouais region and the Park’s forest diversity on the Pioneer Trail. This trail begins at the Gatineau Park Welcome Area, near Gamelin Street in downtown Gatineau (Hull sector).

Hickory Trail — 0.5 km

This flat trail leads to a picnic area. Learn along the way about trees and changes in vegetation.

Pink Lake Trail — 2.5 km

This trail goes around Pink Lake, a beautiful meromictic lake. The lake’s turquoise colour, the surrounding cliffs and the dense and varied nearby forest make this a charming site. Dogs and pets are not permitted on Pink Lake Trail.

King Mountain Trail — 1.9 km

The King Mountain Trail leads to the Eardley Escarpment, some 300 metres above the Ottawa Valley. Interpretation panels will tell you about the varied forests along the trail and there are 10 lookouts. Take in the spectacular view of the Ottawa River Valley and nearby cities and check out the First Geodetic Survey Station National Historic Site. Dogs and pets are not permitted on King Mountain Trail.

Champlain Trail — 1.3 km

The Champlain Trail is at the top of the Eardley Escarpment. Along the trail you can learn about the unique plants found here. Stop at the Champlain Lookout and learn about the geological history of the area.

Luskville Falls Trail — 4.5 km

The Luskville Falls Trail has a 290-metre climb up the rocky slope of the Eardley Escarpment. At the top you have a superb view of the Ottawa River Valley. Along the way, learn about plants and trees on the escarpment, the most spectacular ecosystem in Gatineau Park. Dogs and pets are not permitted on the Luskville Falls Trail.

Lauriault and Waterfalls Loop — 3 km

The Waterfall Trail at the Mackenzie King Estate was the former prime minister’s favourite wilderness walk. You can hike all or part of the loop formed by the Lauriault and Waterfall trails. Sights include the Bridal Veil Falls at the end of the Waterfall trail and a lookout on the Lauriault trail.

Parking	Free parking is available at the Lauriault and Mulvihill parking lots. There is a vehicle access fee when parking at the Mackenzie King Estate.

A small guidebook called The Waterfall and Lauriault Trails has been published by the Friends of Gatineau Park. You can buy it at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre and at the Mackenzie King Estate when the museums are open.
