In-line skating in Gatineau Park

The Quebec Highway Safety Code applies to the parkway network in Gatineau Park. This regulation prohibits the use of in-line skates or roller skis on a roadway when the road is open to motorized traffic.

However, you can in-line skate or roller ski on Gatineau Park parkways when the roads are closed to motorized traffic. This is the case every Sunday morning from the end of May to the beginning of September, during the Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays.

Help us protect Gatineau Park and leave no trace.

Skate during Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays

On Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays you can skate on 30.5 kilometres of scenic and car-free parkways. From May 22 to September 4, 2011, the Gatineau, Champlain and Fortune parkways are closed to cars and vehicles from 6 am to 11 am. The section north of Lac-Meech Road is ideal for families with young children and is closed for two additional hours, from 6 am to 1 pm. You can also skate on some parkways in Ottawa during Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays.
