The National Capital Commission (NCC) wishes to advise the public that the two toboggan hills located within the Greenbelt officially open today, December 29, 2011.

The Greenbelt toboggan hills are located at:

  • Conroy Pit (Conroy Road south of Hunt Club Road). This location is lit from 4 pm to 11 pm (access by Parking lot P17).
  • Bruce Pit (Cedarview Road north of Hunt Club Road, across from Bell High School). Please note that this location is not lit (access by Parking lot P12).

The NCC urges the public to always use caution when sledding and to keep to the sides when climbing up the hills. It is recommended that children be equipped with appropriate protective head gear. Snowboarding and snow jumps (moguls) are not permitted. Dogs are not permitted on the hills. Throughout the winter, should conditions deteriorate and pose a hazard to users, the toboggan hills will be temporarily closed and signs will be posted to this effect.

Warning: Residents and visitors use the toboggan hills at their own risk at all times.
