Picnicking in the Greenbelt
The National Capital Greenbelt in Ottawa is an ideal location for a small picnic. Escape to nature in the heart of Canada's Capital and stop for a snack in one of the Greenbelt’s great informal picnic areas. Three of the picnic areas are sheltered and all picnic areas have outhouses.
Shirleys Bay Conservation Area
At Shirleys Bay there are sheltered and unsheltered picnic areas by the Shoreline Trail.

Stony Swamp Conservation Area
Explore the trails at Stony Swamp and stop for a picnic at one of two picnic areas. There is an unsheltered picnic area by the Jack Pine Trail and both sheltered and unsheltered picnic areas by the Sarsaparilla Trail.

| Free, year-round parking is available. Park at the P7 parking lot for the Sarsaparilla Trail and the P9 parking lot for the Jack Pine Trail. | |

Southern Farm and Pinhey Forest
At Southern Farm and Pinhey Forest you will find an unsheltered picnic area near trails 32 and 33.

| Free, year-round parking is available at the P15 parking lot. |
Mer Bleue Conservation Area
After taking a self-guided tour on the Mer Bleue Bog Trail, enjoy a picnic in one of the sheltered or unsheltered picnic areas by the P22 parking lot. There are also unsheltered picnic areas by the P20 and P21 parking lots, as well as one by Carlsbad Springs.

Pine Grove Forest
An unsheltered picnic area is located near at the P18 parking lot, by trails 43 and 44.
