Visitor Information
The Mackenzie King Estate, home to Canada’s 10th prime minister, is a beautiful country estate in Gatineau Park. Stroll the grounds, visit the restored cottages, or enjoy a light lunch at the Mackenzie King Tearoom. The Estate’s museums are open each year from mid-May to mid-October.

- Tuesday — The museums are closed, but the grounds are open.

Winter (Mid-October to Mid-May)
The museums and Tearoom are closed. The grounds are always open and some Gatineau Park ski routes pass through the Estate.

Fees and Parking
There is no fee to visit the Estate. There is an access fee for vehicles using the Mackenzie King Estate parking lot.
You can buy your day passes at the Mackenzie King Estate parking lot (P6).
- $8 day pass — car
- $30 day pass — minibus (20 passengers or less)
- $50 day pass — bus
- Free for school groups participating in guided or non-guided activities at the Mackenzie King Estate.
You can buy a season’s pass that gives access to all Gatineau Park beaches, Leamy Lake beach, and the Mackenzie King Estate. This costs $70 per car and can be bought at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre as well as online through the Demsis website.
Getting Around
Directions
The Mackenzie King Estate is located in Gatineau Park. Some park roads are seasonally closed, so choose the directions that correspond to the date of your visit.
Summer (mid-May to mid-October)
Take the Champlain Parkway in Gatineau Park to reach the Estate.
Winter (mid-October to mid-May)
Take Barnes Road from Old Chelsea, Quebec, to reach the Estate.
Weekend Road Closures
NCC Saturday Short Loops: May 26 to October 27, 2012
Sections of the Gatineau Parkway are closed to cars and other motorized traffic every Saturday morning until 11 am. The section of the Gatineau Parkway north of Lac-Meech Road is closed until 1 pm.

Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays: May 20 to September 2, 2012
Throughout the summer season, all parkways in Gatineau Park are closed to cars and other motorized traffic on Sunday mornings until 11 am. The section of the Gatineau Parkway north of Lac-Meech Road is closed until 1 pm.
Parking
During the summer there is a vehicle access fee for parking at the Mackenzie King Estate parking lot. Parking is free in the winter.

You can get print maps at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre, the Gatineau Park Welcome Area and the Capital Information Kiosk.
Universal Accessibility
The guest cottage, garages, movies, Abbey Ruins, Tearoom, snack bar and youth programs are wheelchair-accessible.
Guided and Self-guided Tours
At the Mackenzie King Estate, guided tours are offered for individuals, groups and school groups.
Safety and Conservation
The ruins and stone walls are historic structures to be conserved. For this reason and for your safety, climbing on the ruins and other structures is strictly prohibited.
