Sunday Bikedays and Capital BIXI Changes on Canada Day

Capital BIXI and Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays changes on Canada Day

On Sunday, July 1, Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays will be limited to Gatineau Park and part of the Capital BIXI network will be closed.

Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays

Canada Day 2012 falls on a Sunday so Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays routes will be reduced for the day.

On July 1, 2012:

  • Ottawa parkways will not be available for Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays.
  • Gatineau Park parkways will be reserved for cyclists as usual.

Capital BIXI

On Canada Day 2012:

  • 10 Capital BIXI bike stations will be closed from 2 am on July 1 until 6 am on July 2.
  • 15 Capital BIXI bike stations will remain open as usual.

Closed Capital BIXI Bike Stations

Ottawa

  • Lyon / Queen streets
  • O’Connor / Queen streets
  • Elgin / Queen streets
  • William / Rideau streets
  • York / Dalhousie streets
  • Murray Street / Mackenzie Avenue (also removed)

Gatineau

  • Laurier / Victoria streets
  • Laurier Street / Sacré-Cœur Boulevard
  • Laurier / Verdun streets
  • Des Allumettières Boulevard / Laurier Street

Capital BIXI Bike Returns

You will still be able to return Capital BIXI bikes to the closed BIXI stations. The only exception is the Murray / Mackenzie station, which will be removed for the day.

Once returned the bikes are no longer available until 6 am on July 2. We recommend that you return your bike to an open station so that other users can enjoy the service.
