Sunday Bikedays and Capital BIXI Changes on Canada Day
On Sunday, July 1, Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays will be limited to Gatineau Park and part of the Capital BIXI network will be closed.
Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays
Canada Day 2012 falls on a Sunday so Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays routes will be reduced for the day.
On July 1, 2012:
- Ottawa parkways will not be available for Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays.
- Gatineau Park parkways will be reserved for cyclists as usual.
Capital BIXI
On Canada Day 2012:
- 10 Capital BIXI bike stations will be closed from 2 am on July 1 until 6 am on July 2.
- 15 Capital BIXI bike stations will remain open as usual.

Ottawa
- Lyon / Queen streets
- O’Connor / Queen streets
- Elgin / Queen streets
- William / Rideau streets
- York / Dalhousie streets
- Murray Street / Mackenzie Avenue (also removed)
Gatineau
- Laurier / Victoria streets
- Laurier Street / Sacré-Cœur Boulevard
- Laurier / Verdun streets
- Des Allumettières Boulevard / Laurier Street
Capital BIXI Bike Returns
You will still be able to return Capital BIXI bikes to the closed BIXI stations. The only exception is the Murray / Mackenzie station, which will be removed for the day.
Once returned the bikes are no longer available until 6 am on July 2. We recommend that you return your bike to an open station so that other users can enjoy the service.
