Rideau Canal Skateway opens in its entirety just in time for NHL All-Star Weekend
The National Capital Commission (NCC) is pleased to announce that the entire length of the Rideau Canal Skateway opened this morning.
A number of activities for the NHL® All-Star Weekend, January 26 through January 29, will take place on and around the Rideau Canal Skateway. They are sure to delight hockey fans of all ages. For more information, visit NHL.com.
Managed by the NCC since the 1970-71 season, the 7.8-kilometre Rideau Canal Skateway receives, on average, one million visits each year. The world-famous ice surface becomes one of the official sites for Winterlude, the Capital’s winter celebration, which will be held from February 3 to 20, 2012.
