NCC Youth Strategy

We want youth to be part of what we do at the NCC. Our goal is for Canada’s Capital Region to be a vibrant and meaningful place that both embraces — and reflects — Canadian youth.

Our Vision

Canada’s Capital Region is a place where Canadian youth feel valued and represented. They see the Capital as a place to discover their country.

Our Youth Strategy

The NCC’s youth strategy is set out in Calling on Canada’s Youth: Youth Programs at the National Capital Commission, Strategic Plan 2009–2014. Our target audience is Canadian youth between the ages of 10 and 24.

The strategy focuses on four key areas:

  1. Promote our programs
  2. Educate youth about the Capital
  3. Represent youth in the Capital
  4. Engage youth when creating new programs and when planning for the future.

Let’s Work Together

Working with related organizations is an important part of our strategy. We are in search of young people, youth organizations, cultural institutions, educators, media and government partners with exciting ideas.
