At the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada students will gain a global perspective on currency and learn about the relationship between currency and society.
The Currency Museum offers guided interaction and discovery-based learning activities. Through hands-on group activities, students will learn:
- the origins and different forms of money
- what makes a currency successful
- the history, design and production of Canada’s paper money and currency
- about money as a method of payment
- how to distinguish between real and counterfeit bank notes
