Haunted Walks of Ottawa
Discover some of the Capital’s ghostly historical secrets with expert storytellers who will guide your tour through the streets of downtown Ottawa.
The guides of Haunted Walks of Ottawa are expert storytellers. On their tours most students don’t even realize they are learning while having such a great time!
All stories are thoroughly researched and will delight even the skeptics in the group. Locals and newcomers alike are fascinated by these glimpses into the darker history and haunting of Canada’s Capital.
Three tours are offered:
The Original Haunted Walk of Ottawa
- This is the group’s longest running tour and takes place outdoors.
Ghosts and the Gallows
- This tour features a lantern-lit trip inside one of the most haunted buildings in North America: the Ottawa Jail Hostel. Students will see death row, the cell block, and the last working gallows in Canada.
The Crime and Punishment Jail Tour
- This tour takes place indoors and provides a historical tour of the old Carleton County Jail. Students will learn of escapes, executions, riots, and the unbelievable living conditions the inmates were forced to endure.
